The Everything Drawer
This is the place where poems belong that don't fit into the other categories.
I'll start with a little piece about love: not the starry-eyed sort, but the kind that endures when the beloved isn't so pretty.
Ugly Love
There are days love hurts like hell,
like a thorny crown,
like getting nailed down
to a block of wood,
then abandoned naked
for anyone to jeer.
Friends ditch you
'cos you've blown it so badly.
Those you're dying for
don't want you
to love them like that.
Sometimes love looks like failure.
Sometimes love feels like it's failed
too.
